Holiday Update 2015
Happy Holidays! We hope you’re enjoying the holiday season. Thanks to all our awesome supporters, 2016 is shaping up to be a great year!
2015 in Review
We entered 2015 by finalizing the preliminary design for Evoke’s circuit board. With that accomplished, we printed the very first plastic prototypes of the device, and by the end of February we had successfully fit the new board – and the induction core – into the device. In April, we made the first metal-bodied Loto Labs prototypes, just in time to showcase the first magnetic induction vaporizer at the 4/20 trade convention in Denver.
The summer of 2015 saw a lot of improvements to those prototypes. Improvements to the connectors, to the circuit board, to the induction core – you name it! By the end of the summer, we had 10 fully functional prototype Evokes, and our Android and iPhone apps were in beta testing. When October rolled around, the improvements we made to the induction core meant the Loto Labs was finally ready to be the only device capable of vaping e-liquid, aromatic blends, and essetial oils with magnetic induction. This last improvement, coupled with a new mouthpiece we’ve recently designed, means we’re tantalizingly close to delivering on our promise of a state-of-the-art induction vaporizer.
Looking Ahead to 2016
Loto Labs is ready for production. We have chosen a facility and performed an extensive manufacturing audit. Manufacturing will begin as soon as we finish manufacturing tooling and close our current round of financing. When will that be you ask? We hope to start in the first quarter of 2016 and will release concrete dates as soon as we have them. The truth is, building the first magnetic induction vaporizer has taken us longer, and cost us much more, than we anticipated- and we ask for your continued patience as we work tirelessly to deliver Loto Labs. The first units off the production line are exclusively reserved for our founding IndieGoGo supporters.
In the meantime, we’re continuing to move forward with more improvements. The mouthpiece continues to be perfected, and we have more work to do with our capsule design. These are separate elements that we’ll continue to improve on even after we begin manufacturing the devices.
When we launched Loto Labs, filed our patents, initiated an Indiegogo campaign, and began to breathe life into Loto Labs, we were shooting for the moon. We wanted the first iteration of the device to be perfect, to solve all the nagging issues common to vaporizers. We set out to disrupt an industry, to be the most innovative company in the vaporizer space, and to do it all in a year or less. Despite our setbacks, we are now closer to our goal then ever before, and have gained tremendous valuable experience along the way.
As always, fulfilling our commitment to our IndieGoGo supporters is our top priority. 2016 will be a great year. We thank you for your continued patience and look forward to getting your Loto Labs into your hands as soon as possible.
Peace, Love and Vaping
